Shirley Hilzinger began her career as a nurse after graduating from the University of Michigan with a Bachelors of Science in Nursing in 1985. She worked in a hospital setting for several years before taking time off when her children were born. After completing her master’s degree at Oakland University in Michigan, she and her family moved to the Chicago area where she started practicing as a nurse practitioner with Advocate Occupational and Employee Health in 2003. She has also worked with Take Care Health (Walgreen’s clinics) and most recently worked at The Brannick Clinic of Natural Medicine.
Shirley has had a long-standing interest in nutrition and spirituality, which led her to study other healing methods and integrative practice models. She is currently a student of energy healing with Deborah King. Her work now consists of combining the best of Western medicine, natural therapies and energy medicine.
Outside of work, Shirley enjoys spending time with family, skiing, hiking, writing, and singing.
